SHUSRUSA is a voluntary organization of a small group of dedicated and determined persons with an objective to provide home nursing services and was launched on 8th April 2003. Shusrusa was conceived in September 2002, as a result, a few likeminded individuals who felt the need for professional and high quality home nursing care in Odisha
Shusrusa was launched on 8th April 2003 and registered under the SR Act 1860. At present SHUSRUSA have 6 life members and 13 Annual members
SHUSRUSA facilitate to train 40 numbers of girls in each training schedule with the duration of two months. During last 18 years 52 batches have already undergone training as per the training curriculum designed and executed by reputed and experienced doctors, psychiatrists, dieticians, nurses, social workers & behavioral science experts.
SHUSRUSA is providing best faculty members for the training program and other specialists are invited as guest faculty including police personnel, Psychologist, Social Worker, Physiotherapist and other working in the field of geriatrics and infant care, also time to time we conduct the refresher training programs for their better performance and during the training period exposure visit to many private, Govt. & Central Govt. hospitals to observe how to handle patient care. Time to time health checkup, Blood grouping, urine, stool tests are going on. During the training program SHUSRUSA is providing hostel facilities to the trainees.
Our placement cell screens the potential service receivers & the nursing assistants, after the successful completion of the training. Regular consultation with the families of the service receiver. One to one professional counseling is also given regularly. Financial assistance is rendered to the care givers in case of serious illness
So far we have trained 2164 nursing assistants in 64 batches. With each batch we have modified the syllabus to suit to the type of patients availing the nursing services. We have provided home nursing service at Puri, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, where we monitor the performance by home visits and sending the faculty members to supervise and give necessary advice on the spot.
